It means finding the best location among the suitable ones, which could sometimes involve re-purposing or re-using an existing building, making a land purchase and building to suit, while creating a competitive bid process for the construction.

It also means understanding traffic patterns, assessing public transportation services, acquiring the market intelligence and demographic profiles that have impact on employee recruitment and retention for office space and/or consumer traffic that builds retail sales and increases hotel occupancy rates.
